A place that gets advertised as...

A place that gets advertised as the "cream of the crop" in St. Petersburg; it's definitely got a premier location (right along Nevsky Prospekt, a block or two IIRC past the Kazan Cathedral on the other side of the street [travelling from the Winter Palace direction]). Advertises reduced-entry for EU citizens who bring their passports, I tried my American one but they didn't make an exception.

Moved one floor up from the location it was years ago (from the 2nd to 3rd floor; the former is now a sushi place, like half of St. Petersburg). They obviously put a lot of money into remodeling but it has kind of a strange feel to it--a little empty and uncomfortable in my opinion (for example, the stage area is *much* higher than the patron level--the dancer's feet are about five feet higher than yours approximately, you're really looking up.) I think the previous poster said they often don't even go topless because they (stage dancers) tend to do like one song in their outfits, then one song topless, then they're off the stage. A lot of the girls tend to be in one of the booths on the perimeter of the club, talking to what appear to be Russian businessmen-types (although they are supposedly often Finnish, Swedish, or German). A lot of the girls don't speak English, or only very little; the ones that do get very excited when you identify yourself as American (or other native English speaker presumably)--whether this is because they want to practice their English or because they see you as an easy target with lots of money is anybody's guess.

Most of the girls are fair-looking with some that are pretty cute. Note that they will not all be the Russian Olga bombshell stereotype we tend to have in the States--Russia is (and always has been) a very diverse place and there are a lot of with dark hair, non-classic Slavic features, and so on. Also supposedly some Ukrainians, and girls from Central Asia (who tend to have a "darker" look, like part Mediterranean, or part Turkish, although if you're looking for this type Moscow supposedly has 100x more.)
