Well no sooner do I write about how rundown and divey Good Guys is (in a good way) than they do a complete soundsystem upgrade, pull down most of the exposed ductwork, add new lighting, repaint, and clean up a lot of the more divey aspects of the decore. They are obviously going for a Gentlemen's Club look or reputation. I don't know if they can pull it off, or if I want them to, but the place does look a lot better. As for the soundsystem, they need to turn down the subwoofer a bit and quit playing country music every time some dancer plays a rap song. It's a weird thing they do. The dancers pick their music, they are told to pick rock, every so often one plays a rap or too close to rap for management's tastes song, they cut the song and play country for the rest of the dancers set. It is indescribable how much the dancers hate this. The customers don't like it much either.

Most other aspects of the club are unchanged. The dancer quality still is about the second best in DC (second only to Camelot), but there can be a large seperation in quality. The management (which I believe has changed about 5 times this year, the most recent being in August) has managed to set a lower limit so you don't get the girls you REALLY don't want to see naked as often, although there are still a few bellys and some bad celulite to be seen. But on a typical shift that is one or two girls instead of half of them. If you check the schedule the better looking girls IMHO to look for are Dolphin, Gabriella, Camaro, Shilo, Olivia, Royal, Key, Kelly, Alice, Shane and Jasper. Nothing against the other girls, those are just the ones I'm familiar with. They're also fun to sit and talk with, which they'll do for the price of a drink. Dancers drinks are the same as customers, which is expensive and has two rates, day and night. For a daytime beer the price is $8.25, $8.75 night. Other drinks run well over $10 for top shelf shots.

The seating still sucks for the most part. You can see the stages very easily, but unless you are sitting at one of the stage side seats you are packed in in tight rows that make it almost impossible to move when its crowded. The rumor is that they plan to extend into what was the Italian resturaunt next door (now closed). They could use the space, but I'll miss that resturaunt.
