There's nothing really wrong with Platinum Plus. It's a large venue and can handle weekend night crowds. It's clean, in a busy but safe area, has plenty of parking, and is easily accessible from the Maine Turnpike. No annoying bathroom troll, reasonable cover charge, drinks don't cost a fortune. Their use of $2 bills as change is well-documented. While it's a little annoying, it's not a huge problem. They treat new customers well; it was my first time at the Platinum Plus and the waitress was very helpful in giving me the lay of the land. The waitresses were very attentive, but there wasn't pressure to constantly buy drinks. When I was there, they were running three stages and most of the dancers were pretty good. As far as dances go, the room has been well-described previously. The quality of the dances varied according to the girl, but in general I'd call them average. In fact, that basically sums up my view of the club; it's fine. It's not great, but it's not bad. It's a club that doesn't have to worry about much competition because it's the only one in the Portland area. Because of that, you're pleasantly surprised that it's not worse, but there's not much pressure for it to get better either. If you're in Portland and want to go to a strip club, feel free to go to the Platinum Plus, but you wouldn't want to go too far out of your way or make too big a deal of going there. It's certainly not a destination club.
