First Time at The Church

Was in town for the holiday season with the wife and decided to try out the St. James (A.K.A "The Church") on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. We've been to a few clubs together but not in Houston before, so this is our first experience with H-Town hospitality.

The club is located near Bush airport on the north part of Houston, though didn’t take too long driving from downtown considering it was late. Arrived at about 10pm to a relatively full front lot. Drove up to the front and discovered the valet that night was $15 and to park in the back lot manually was $10. Decided on valet since it was cold and kinda wet outside, tipped the guy the rest of my $20 after all was said and done

The outside of the club is very nice looking, big columns by the front door, and a few steps leading up to the big front doors to the building. Outside "vibe checker" was a cool dude, super tall, and had a nice energy when ushering people inside. Through the doors there's the receptionist area with the front desk on the right-hand side and a couple of metal detectors. Desk lady was very nice and gave us the rundown of the clubs, rules, the 2 drink minimum (can buy water/soda), bathroom locations, kitchen hours (till 1am), etc., then did the standard ID check. Cover was $20/person that night so we paid that, set down our phones and the wife's purse for inspection, walked through the metal detector, grabbed our stuff, and walked through another set of doors to the main club area.
