Same Place, New Hours

It's been a year since I last reviewed this place, so this review is based on several visits, mostly Wednesday but also some Fridays and Saturdays. Mostly in the early evening but sometimes late. They even opened up once on a Sunday but I didn't go to that and I haven't seen that since so it was probably dead then, too. Overall the club continues to slow down with fewer customers with one exception...very late at night. I think the people running the club recognize this too, so the hours are changing. Friday and Saturday now they're open from 9PM-4AM. A few years ago it really didn't get going until after 10, but now it's dead until around midnight so I understand the shift in opening and closing time as well. If you want dances or to spend time with a particular girl, earlier is better because you'll have almost no competition. If you want a rowdy crowd, absolutely go later on the weekends.

A lot of my review will be repeating myself, because, well, the club hasn't changed much in the past year. Thankfully even the prices are the same. But I'm going to restate the basics so you don't have to scroll all the way back to my previous review last October.

BASICS: McDoogals is a nude club where you can have a cheap night because it is BYOB and has a reasonable cover charge (cover is $8 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, $20 on Fridays and Saturdays). Bottles of water and mixers (sodas, ice) are available for $4, but if you want to drink anything else, you have to bring it with you. Girls dance 2 songs on stage, and you're expected to tip a buck or two if you're sitting around the bar, and after they dance, the girls walk around the club and you're expected to give them a buck or two even if you're playing pool. So, if you just want a low-key cheap night you can buy a 6-pack and come in to see some girls for a few hours without spending too much. Lap dances are topless for $40 a song, and the VIP rooms are $220 for 15 minutes (not including a tip). The lap dances are not very private and I think $40 is a lot, but at least they play full songs. The girls keep $30 of the lap dance money and give the club $10 per song. Based on that, I'm sure there is room to negotiate a bit, I offered $100 for three songs and she accepted. The VIP is steep, $220 is a ton of money for 15 minutes. For rooms, the girls keep $70 and give the club $150 so there is less room to negotiate. YMMV of course.
