I Saw Red!

This odyssey begins on a Tuesday just before noon at the Perfect 10 in North Austin—what is happening there? No music until almost 1 PM?—and ends at Rick's just across the interstate.

I had never been to Rick's, so when Perfect 10 didn't pan out, I decided to manuver my way across I-35 and all the construction to check it out. When I arrived, the parking lot was empty except for a single truck that was leaving. That was the first red flag, but I decided to go inside anyway. I paid the $5 cover and went inside the club, which was empty. Second red flag.

Eventually someone came to take my drink order, a sprite for $8, and I settled in hoping at least one dancer would show up. In the meantime, I scanned the club. It seems very small. There were a few tables around the main dance area which was empty. Opposite that there is a raised area with tables, which I assume is VP seating maybe. I could see through a doorway that there were more tables in the next room. The bar is also in that room. To be honest, the inside of the club looked great. The chairs were comfortable, the lighting was excellent and the color scheme worked well. It is an attractive club.
