Desert fun in the Permian Basin
Arrived around 10pm. Parking lot was well-lit.
Door guy standing outside. He frisked my husband, and looked through my purse. I did not get frisked.
Cover was $20 each, so $40 total. The front door girl just flat out asked for a tip. Awkward. I had planned on tipping her a few dollars, (can't miss her tip jar that's sitting RIGHT THERE - that I have to reach around to pay the cover charge) but when she put me on the spot, it made me not want to tip her at all. I still did. She also informed me that she was the only one I could get singles from, so I went ahead and cashed out a couple of 20's for some singles.
Ok, so we're in and the place was hopping. Found a table right in the middle of the three stages they had going. I saw a cigarette vending machine, so I assumed smoking was allowed. However, there were no ashtrays on the tables and I never saw anyone smoking, so maybe not?
Because we aren't from the area, I didn't trust opening a tab, so I paid cash for our drinks. First order, Tito's and Cranberry and a beer. Total was $21.50 for the two drinks. I gave the waitress $40 and she asked me if I wanted change. That would be a $18.50 tip. She returned with $18.00. I tipped her $5. The Tito's and Cranberry was $11.50, the beer was $10.00. I expected the mixed drink to be around $10. A little surprised that the beer was too.
She gave us the lay of the land. One time fee of $20 to take a girl to the front (private area) where the lap dances happened. Dances were $30/song. I was a little surprised. We're from Houston, where lap dances are $20/song.
Lots of dancers. White, Black, Hispanic. Some all natural, most not natural (I/we prefer natural). All good looking girls. We watched a lot of guys tip the dancers on the stage. Dancers were pretty touchy and seemed to allow customers to touch too. Hooking their heels around the customers and pulling them in closer for seemingly two or three dollars. We tipped on stage too $5 to $7 (which is what we tip in Houston). We didn't get much attention. Maybe because we had never been there before (not regulars) or maybe because there was a woman at the table. The only attention we got was from our waitress.
Music was good. It was Belts and Buckles night, so there was a good mix of some Country, some Rock, some Alternative.
After our second drink order, waitress came by with a business size card with a QR code to Google Reviews. She said if I wrote a review and mentioned her name, we would get a free drink. We never saw our free drink.
I don't think we'll be back in Odessa anytime soon (it's a LLLOONNNGGGG way from Houston). But if we are, I would stop by again. I really like pole work, and there were quite a few here that put on a good show on the pole.
