A Portland staple that never goes outta style

Sassy's in Portland offers a pretty solid experience, standing out among the city's many clubs. I used to live in PDX in the 90's and it hasn't changed much, which is a good thing. Clientele ranges from regulars to first-time visitors to folks just there to knock back a few beers. The interior is standard dive bar with laid-back vibe. The club is spacious, with ample seating around all three stages. Despite its size, they tend to pack a lot of people (dancers and patrons) inside on any given day.

The performers at Sassy’s have always been above average, with a lean toward the tattooed alt-model style of lady. If you're into high-energy pole dancing Sassy's never disappoints, most of the dancers are skilled and engaged with the patrons. More "pro" dancers than the sort of bored style that just wander around the stage half dressed. The ladies at Sassy's tend to be confident and approachable, often engaging in friendly conversation and flirting with dudes at the rack. Never really got a creepy vibe here.

This particular weeknight the bar was about half full with maybe 6-8 girls on shift. Like many strip clubs, the vibe can vary depending on the night, sometimes weeknights can be a better experience vs. a busy weekend where it can be hard to get the dancers' attention. I stuck to the rack, tipping $3-$5 per song and going through the rotation of girls a few times. No VIP room this visit, I just wanted to have a few beers and take it easy. All pretty ladies, no duds. Most were very engaging; making eye contact, light touches and hair sweeps and lots of pole acrobatics. I've been to Sassy's many times over 30+ years and there's a reason why it's on a lot of top of the city lists. Super consistent, reasonably priced and lots of hot dancers. What more can you ask for?
