The only game in town, but expensive and nowhere near worth it
I get to or through Liberal a couple times a year, and it has been a strip club wasteland since The Dukes club, just across the border in Beaver (no kidding) County, KS, closed during Covid. So, when I saw the sign for Liv’s driving through Liberal, I decided to try it out. I wish I hadn’t. It is expensive and not even vaguely worth it.
Entering the bar, the attractive bartender collects the cover and takes your drink order. I think it was $8 total for cover and a beer. There is a pool table next to the bar and it was getting more action than the group of dancers sitting around in the bar area looking at their phones. That was a warning that there probably wasn’t much to be had in terms of mileage in the dances.
There is a fairly large stage with a pole on the east side of the bar, but only one dancer danced on stage while I was there. I tipped and got some contact, but nothing special.
There were about a dozen dancers, mostly Cuban with one native Kansan and one African American. The Cubans were of all different latina body types. After sitting down I was immediately joined by a full figured Cuban dancer who worked the below the waist sales job hard. She spoke little English and my Spanish is pretty basic, so she communicated mostly through her phone. She offered a lot in a private dance, and although the price was high at $60, I figured with the OTP greeting on the floor, maybe it would be worth it. It was not and there was less contact than at my table. There was no negotiating more contact during the dance, which the dancer indicated was because there were cameras “everywhere”. The dances were in a small booth at the back of the club, which afforded some privacy, but the privacy was not needed.
I returned to my seat, poorer but wiser. Education is expensive no matter how one gets it. After more unsuccessful attempts by other Cubans to drain my wallet, the native Kansan stopped by. I asked her about options for the private dances and was told that nothing extra was available from any of the dancers, at anytime, although “that would be fun”. She verified that there are cameras in the dance booths and that they are monitored.
With the lack of dancers on stage there is really no reason to hang out and look at the eye candy, and with the high prices for low-mileage dances there is no reason to really go to this club. If they drop the prices of the dances substantially, it might be worth it, but only if mileage goes up. As there are no other clubs in this part of Kansas, it might be hard to resist going, but don’t be tempted by the dances.
