A Laid-Back Thursday @Chicago Club

On a recent Thursday afternoon, I took the advice of fellow mongers and paid my first visit to Chicago club. I'd stayed away because it wasn't on the same level as Hong Kong, tropical, or even Adelita's (RIP).

It has a more laid-back vibe than Hong Kong; when I came in on a Thirsday midafternoon, there were 15 to 20 dancers and anout the same number of customers. As you come in, there's a bar on the left where many of the dancers sit and check their phones while others dance along three poles in the middle--only one was in action when I went. there's also a bubble show in the back that runs when it's busier. made a note to come back for that one.

The club's relative quiet suittd me fine; rather than suffering the hustle for fichas (where you buy the dancer a massively overpriced drink), I was able to look over who was there while I nursed a dos equis without being constantly approached by dancers or meseros, who gave me my space after I firmly, but politely, declined their offers of chips and second beers.
