Good, but watch your day of week for performer choice
I don't want to get any shade, but I had a surprisingly less-than-awesome experience, which is rare for SR. The issue was that I was in town for work so had to go in during the middle of the week. I went in around 11:30 or midnight and the lot actually had a decent amount of cars. So figured it was worth going in. The staff was light at the entry so I had to wait outside about 5 minutes until the concierge/bouncer dude could let me in. Cover was steep as usual, about 54 bucks. Walked in and they have done a ton of remodeling. For some odd reason, the nice open foyer area up front has been filled up with tables now. I'm not a fan. I thought the foyer was a really nice place just to chill and talk to dancers more casually. Putting the tables there makes it harder to get into the main club and just makes it feel like it's all business as soon as you walk in. After snaking around all the tables into the main club, the place was actually fairly active so my hopes were initially up. But then the constant sales pitches started. It was impossible to just sit or stand anywhere for 2 minutes without a dancer pitching dances. I don't know if it's inexperience or a sign of the economic times. The girls I've spent the most on at SR were always the ones who would sit down and chat vs. going for the kill immediately. So I could feel the buzzkill coming on.
Then I started to see a pattern, and I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but none of the dancers spoke English natively. Almost every dancer was from Cuba, Ukraine, Argentina, a variety of other countries. Many of them were gorgeous and there are guys who are into latin and eastern european girls, which is fine. But there was a shocking lack of English skills. This poses two problems. One, there's almost no hope of small talk. Every girl had the same memorized pitch. "You been here before? You here for work or fun? Where you from? You ready for VIP?" I almost wished I was wearing one of those white name tag stickers on my chest that had my name, my hometown, why I was there, just so I didn't have to repeat the same shit over and over again. So small talk is problem #1. The second problem is if you can't have small talk, how do you negotiate anything in the VIP? Isn't the chance of a ROB a lot higher when a dancer can claim language barrier? "Oh you paid $380 for 15 minutes, not 30. My English not so good." I don't mean this in an offensive way and most of the dancers were quite attractive and friendly. But if you're used to having some pre-game and in-game banter, this was a bad environment to be in. I hung out for a little less than an hour and I don't think I saw a single dancer for whom English was a first language. Decided to leave without dances because I literally had no idea what I'd be paying for with any dancer that stopped by.
I've had totally diff experiences on the weekends where the club is a factory filled with every color of the rainbow and there is someone for everyone. So it's not a knock on SR, but it's just a cautionary tale for anyone who's in town for work during the week. It's possible that it's more of the foreign girls working all week and the domestics only come in on weekends now. Otherwise, club is kept in great shape, it's still a great spot in Vegas, though admittedly cover is steep to pay 54 bucks on a Wednesday. I remember a place in Canada where they used to have zero cover charge, because the business model was entirely built on being a lap dance factory. Vegas is going the other way where the clubs have to yank a steep cover out since so the dance/VIP market is falling. Still recommend SR on the whole, but maybe stick to weekends if you're not into the imported scene.
