A good walk down memory lane

After a lengthy hiatus from the metro Detroit club scene I found myself in the area of some of my old haunts. With a free evening in hand I figured why not stop at Henry's to see how things had evolved in the last 5 years. It was clear as I pulled into the fenced in lot that visibly not much had changed.

I paid the $5 (still) entry fee to the doorman and felt like I had entered a time warp back to the mid 2010s. Decor and furnishing has not changed much, Henry's continues to have that distinctive hole-in-the-wall feel it has had over the last 20+ years. I found a seat at the bar like I had done countless times years ago. And although the bartenders were different the vibe felt familiar. Drink pricing remains consistent at the typical overpriced strip club level (e.g. $10 water).

For an early Friday evening the club was fairly busy with about a dozen girls visible on the floor. The girls mingling about were mostly white and AA, no Asians or Latinas. Ages ranged from early twenties to mid-thirties, and all body types were represented. For those who care about these things the majority of dancers had ink.
