Things pick up after 10 pm

Stopped by on my way home after 9pm on a Friday. Club is easy to get to off the local mass transit systems: BART and MUNI. I suggest getting off at the Powell Street station and walking south towards Civic Center. Flashed my military ID and was granted free entry. Nice. Bought a water for $4.25 and found a seat near the stage.

Once seated, I can easily slip up to the front of the stage if a performing dancer strikes my fancy. From the time I arrived, girls were doing two song sets: topless after one and bottomless after the second. The challenge on this night is that from the time I first arrived until 10:30 or so, only one girl grabbed my attention: Lexa. More on her later. When she performed I’d head to the stage side and tip. When other girls performed, I’d sit back and contemplate the day. Other patrons seemed to adhere to the same approach. This means that some girls would get ample tips and some girls would get next to nothing. I tip to show my interest and as a show of gratitude. I am not a strip club egalitarian, and do not tip a girl if she does absolutely nothing for me.

At this club, the girls fall squarely into two categories: ones that circulate and talk to the patrons and girls who sit between their stage performances and expect the patrons to approach them. Ideally, I am eventually approached by the girls I tip on stage and avoided by the girls I don’t. I’m polite to whomever approaches me, but it struck me on this night that some of the girls who circulate speak so softly that they cannot be heard or cannot hold a simple conversation. I need a way to end these visits politely, quickly, and in a way that word does not circulate amongst the girls that I am to be left alone.
