High End for The Big Whale

Hit up Sapphire 60 in Manhattan recently and walked out $300 lighter with not much to show for it. This place is high-end and definitely geared toward the bottle service/VIP crowd. If you’re not rolling in deep, expect to be mostly ignored.

Was surprised to learn that lap dances are $40 each. Girls weren’t interested in chatting or building any connection. The vibe was purely transactional—sit down, dance, collect. A few were friendly enough, but overall, it felt like they were just scanning the room for the next high roller.

I burned through my cash quick: a few dances, a couple of drinks, and it was game over. Drinks were a whole other beast—$35+ for a basic cocktail, not including tip. You do the math.
