Meh Time at Hoops

I visited Hoops on a recent Wednesday evening. The place was pretty empty except for like 3 other PLs so I certainly wasn’t there at prime time. It’s been described before but Hoops is more of a sports bar concept right next door to Rick’s (which is a more traditional club). When you enter the bar is to your left, there are some TVs and a lap dance area to the back with couches, though they were pretty empty when I went given there weren’t that many people in the club.

There were only 5-6 dancers in the club at the time so I considered leaving after sitting down, but decided to have a beer. The dancers were pretty hot (as is the standard for midtown), and I was approached by a friendly (and curvy) Asian dancer named Kim shortly after I got my drink. She was chill and easy to talk to, kind of the sense I got from most of the dancers here. The few dancers there were a mix of different ethnicities (AA, Eastern European, Latina, and Kim). We talked and she didn’t really push a dance but eventually asked if I want one and off we went.

Similar to Rick’s next door, dances offer decent mileage on the dance floor with some roaming allowed, but nothing too crazy (and YMMV), and I didn’t think anything extra would have been on the table had we done a private room.
