Rick's offers an intriguing experience, especially on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, when I had the chance to visit this local spot. As I arrived, the first thing that caught my attention was the warmth of the greeting outside. A guy stood at the door, welcoming me in with an eagerness that was almost overly formal. He promptly escorted me to the coat check area, asking to see my ID. This felt slightly odd, as I’m well past my 40s, but I appreciated the sense of security.

After stowing my coat, I was introduced to another staff member, who kindly offered me a choice between a table and seating at the bar. I opted for the table, not realizing that I’d be seated directly in the middle of the room—completely exposed. In hindsight, I’d probably have preferred the cozy, quieter setting of the bar, but that was my own fault for not considering the layout more carefully.

As for the food, I went with the special 3-course meal for $15. The offer was certainly hard to pass up, and I’m happy to report that it was well worth the price. The soup was comforting, a perfect start to the meal. The steak, tender and flavorful, was the star of the show, and it was complemented beautifully by a rich and indulgent lava cake for dessert. Overall, the meal was satisfying, especially considering the price.
