sinclair's Review
I went to Flirts Gentlemen’s Club at 21:45 on a Saturday night. There is a small parking lot to the right of the building, but if that is full, parking is along Jefferson Street. There was a $10 cover charge at the door, and I had to walk through a metal detector. The building is narrow in width but long in length. I estimate the inside is thirty feet wide by one hundred ten feet in length. Navigating through the club can be difficult when it gets crowded. The stage is a long island with two pole positions. One pole spins, and one pole is static. There are three booths for private dances a couple steps up along the front wall next to the DJ booth. The bar is in the back along the right wall. There was no waitress the night I visited, so I had to fight through the crowd at the bar to get a drink. A Sincweiser bottle was $4.75. The best deal for heavy drinkers was the Busch Light tallboy for $3. There is a smoking patio out the door at the far back end of the floorplan beyond the washrooms. The ATM has a $200 maximum withdrawal and charges a $5 fee per transaction. Next to the ATM is a vending machine with chips and candy bars. For the first couple of hours, the music selection was similar to what you would hear on SiriusXM Turbo: Seether, Static-X, Crossfade, Disturbed, Nine Inch Nails, Breaking Benjamin, and Pantera. The DJ finally included more hip hop into the playlist after midnight.
There were fourteen dancers working. Almost all of the dancers were black, mixed, or Hispanic. Only one dancer was Caucasian. There were two Cuban dancers who pretty much everyone ignored, except for two guys, also Cuban, who sat with them all night. They must have been known as ROBs, and they didn’t speak much English. Dancers stripped down to topless on stage. Most contact seemed to be boobs to the face. At least I was allowed to insert dollars into dancers’ g-strings.
Private dances were $40 per song. Fifteen minutes of private dancing was $150. Thirty minutes of private dancing was $300. Sixty minutes of private dancing was $400. Dancers kept track of time by setting alarms on their smartphones. The booths have curtains across their entrances. The booth farthest from the DJ booth is the largest, which is best for couples getting dances or guys who want multiple dancers at the same time. Dancers are only allowed to get topless due to alcohol sales. Customers can touch dancers all over. I was also told there was a champagne room in the back of the club with a closing door. I was quoted $800 for an hour. This included champagne or other drinks, and the dancer I talked to said she would break the rules and get completely nude.
