Patience is rewarded.

Having been bored by St. James on a Friday afternoon, I took the 20 minute drive westward to Splendor. This was my first ever visit to Splendor and, based on earlier reviews, I wasn't expecting much. The overgrown & rutted parking lot was the first hint that this establishment does not take pride in maintaining the premises. The doorman was sound asleep in a chair outside. Didn't look very comfortable.

Cover was $8 and a beer was also $8. I gave the bartender a $20 and waited almost 15 minutes for change. Took two reminders to get the $12 back. By contrast, I was accosted by a forty-something highly enhanced Cuban dancer within 30 seconds of sitting down at the bar. It sure felt as if the bartender was hoping I would be distracted long enough to forget about the $12. I realize that I'm sounding cheap, but I had every intention of leaving a $2 tip, but not $12!

Anyway, there were about 25 dancers on the premises with only about 10 patrons. The dancers were mostly lounging around waiting for prey (with Friday paychecks) to enter the establishment. They were of all sorts of sizes, shapes and demeanors. Some were utterly bored, others were hyper-active. Median rating was 6 to 7 with a few below 6 outliers and very sparse pickings above 7.
