A Vegas Island in the Montana Mountains
The Fox Club is the only strip club for miles and miles and miles. And they seem to know that fact all too well. This night I was determined to have a good time and I mentally prepared myself to not get mad at the money I'd have to spend to do it.
The club is a 10-min drive south of downtown Missoula, a cool little college town, home of the University of Montana. It's set just off a main road and it has a famous sign with witty double entendres (prominently featured on their IG - they should feature the dancers instead). Lots of parking all around the joint. l walk in and there's an entryway with a turnstyle to go thru with a cage to the right. No one was there so I just walked through the door, into the club, where the lady in the cage on the other side asked for the $10 cover and to check ID.
The club is very spacious which makes it seem a little sad and deserted on a sparsely attended Monday night. It's clearly trying to be a Vegas-style club, a kind of big fish in a small pond. I'd take a dive bar any day if it meant lower costs. The bar is all along the right side of the club. Left side has a very small "Champagne Room" with four cubicles - one side is open waist-high to the pool tables and slot machines which dot the left side of the club. In the middle is a waste of space - a secondary stage that no one was on with chairs and booths. This is where $50 topless, one-way touch lap dances are supposed to happen. No one went in there the whole night. I wonder why. The back part of the club is where the main stage is - a very nice set-up where it's down some steps with chairs all along the rack and tables/chairs further back. Along both sides are chairs/tables that look down on the stage.
