205: one of the best clubs in town
I have been going to Club 205 more often over the past few months, and I’ve grown a fondness for it. I like that there’s no dress code, I was routinely wearing basketball shorts coming into there over the summer. I like the happy hour drink prices, $2.50 for a mixed drink, and they make their drinks strong. The girls are decent there, not the top of the line when it comes to Portland clubs, but near the top of the line, somewhere in the top 5 to 10 as far as Portland clubs. I like the fact that they have lottery machines. I like the fact that the dances are decent mileage (at least from the girls I’ve gotten dances with there). And finally I like the fact that there’s never a cover charge.
I strolled into 205 on a recent Wednesday night. I was chopping it up with one of the bouncers I knew before I went inside. They just closed the Venue club across the street, so no competition for 205 until you go about 70 blocks down on Stark to Cabaret. Anyways we were just chatting about Venue closing, and one of the dancers came outside, she came up to me and was snuggling up to me. I’ve never seen her before, a blond girl with a decent ass in a Spider-Man costume. I made a note of checking her out once I got inside.
Club 205 has a dive bar feel with the atmosphere and the patrons. 2 stages, music seemed to be mostly rock and country with some hip hop. There are 2 areas for dances, the 1st area is to the left of the DJ booth, there are about 5 or 6 individual curtained dance booths in those areas, semi private, but you can kind of make out the shapes and movements of the people in the booth if you’re close to the booths. The 2nd area is the VIP area, that area is to the right of you when you walk in, behind the bar, that’s where you would do the half hour or hour, there are 2 dance booths in that area, a little more private than the 1st area, but not as private as I would like for a VIP.
