Visions in New Orleans - Worth The Trip from The French Quarter

Visions in New Orleans is where the locals go. I was in town for a meeting and was staying in the French Quarter. Taylor Swift was in town for a 3 night stand....so the quarter was full of concert goers, and the French Quarter Clubs looked dead. So, after some research I chose to go to Visions. I took a Lyft and it was $28. The area is not great, but I was going from car to club within 8 steps. Once inside I can report its about 3-4K square feet. There are no personal tables, just chairs and people milling around. There was ample security which eased my mind. I am not totally sure but it is a $10 cover but that included a drink. After I used my ticket I bought Bud Light and I think they were 7 or 8 bucks. I am sure I am being self conscious but I felt like I was the only one in the club who was not from New Orleans. There were at least 8 people wearing Saints shirts, and a few wearing LSU stuff. The crowd was nice and there were no issues. Dancers were mainly African American, a few Vietnamese, and the usual tatted up characters. Dances were $20 and they were solid. It seems like there was a VIP room out back but I did not go. The only real downside to this club is the location, as New Orleans East is a pretty tough part of town. At 12:45am when I left it took over 20 minutes to get an Uber. After talking to security, he told me that the majority of the Ubers work in the French Quarter and do not venture to New Orleans East. I would go again!
