Finally a positive experience here

A standalone building in a quietish part of the city. Adequate parking lot. Walking distance (1 mile) from the entertainment area in the East End. Large stage elevated about three feet surrounded by barrel bar stools. Pool table ($2) and pinball machine. No DJ, the dancers select their own tunes on the jukebox. The restroom is so-so (much cleaner than 10 years ago).

Now, I've given up on this place multiple times over the years. It was always the case that after dancing on stage the girls would vanish forever into the locker room, or a few would come out and sit with their regulars, and since I wasn't one I would be ignored. Quite often an hour would go by without anyone on stage either. But it was walking distance from where I played volleyball so we would still check it out occasionally. But yesterday I had some time to kill before the Jazz Fest, and a dancer I follow on IG posted she'd be there, so I gave it a chance. I'm glad I did.

At this time (4:30pm Friday) there was no cover and no security on the door. Yes, in the past they've charged a cover and had no one on stage for the length of my visit. But today there was a dancer on stage and it was the one I follow - I think she told me she went by Mel at this club. I grabbed a beer ($3 - beer prices have always been good here in my opinion) and went up to the stage. There were only about 5 customers. When her set finished another dancer came on stage - to my pleasant surprise the stage was never empty during this visit.
