Reintroduction to an Old Friend
Cheerleaders is just about done their interior renovations so I thought it might be time to check it out and detail in a review.
The club is in South Philadelphia just off I-95. The outside of the club looks pretty much the same. Once you walk in you have a hostess desk to your right, a railing and the couch dance room in front of you and a metal detector and the club beyond to your left. I think the rest rooms may be behind the hostess desk but I didn't need to use them so I'm not sure.
I went around 6:30 so there was no cover charge or pat-down by the bouncer at the door. Went in to the "new" club and found a large, open space with the large bar at the center of the room. To the left are booths which run the length of the space down to the entrance to the dressing rooms. I believe the VIP lounge has been moved from its former spot next to the dressing room and has been shifted to walled alcoves which have been built along the back wall. The wall to the right is billed as a video wall which runs the 3/4 of the length of the place. I wouldn't call it a video wall in the classic sense since its a string of the video screens hung one next to the other, all showing individual programming, usually a sporting event rather that a multi-screen picture. Finally, to your right is a glassed-in room which I assume is a cigar lounge and then more alcoves, the purpose of which I'm not sure.
