Glitzy Divey Mix
This place has its plusses and minuses, but checks a few boxes. One thing that is important to me is that it is within 2-3 blocks of Fells Point hotels, so if you’re visiting you can get your drink on without worrying about DUIs or shelling out for Ubers. The streets were pretty desolate when I staggered out at 2 am on a Sunday night/Monday morning so you might get a little freaked out by anybody you do happen to encounter on the street. Same experience when I walked out of there around midnight the following evening.
It is fitted out and operates like a conventional SC, not like the “Block” clubs which are a 20 minute walk to the west. My recollection (I was pretty stoned and a little drunk) was the cover was $8 and there was a metal detector but no pat down. Bar is on the immediate left. Don’t recall specific drink prices, but Heinekens and vodka tonics were reasonable. The hottie I ended up with ordered a double shot of some fancy brand of tequila which ran about $28.
Past the bar, the stage runs longitudinally along the right wall, with high stools along the stage. Booths along the left wall opposite the stage. Past that are stairs up to a mezzanine area which overlooks the stage. There’s also a DJ up there who has a Jimmy Buffet vibe and makes his presence known to the patrons more than in most clubs, including a lot of dialog with the dancers over the PA, which gives the place a bit of a divey aspect. LD and private rooms are also upstairs. Friendly guy in suit stationed at the top of the steps manages the LDs and VIPs, and keeps an eye on the stage.
