Annie’s can surprise you
About once or twice a year I stop in to Annie’s. Nothing has changed since the sprucing up a few years ago. As you enter there are a couple of tables and chairs, and a pool table, with the end of the bar on the left and the private dance area to the right, then restrooms, then a long walk along the bar to the area for entertainment. Very clean, very tidy.
No ID check or security at the door, no video poker machines. A woman was at the bar talking to a man who didn’t appear to be a customer, who later was serving us more drinks and turning more of our twenties into singles. A house whiskey on the rocks was $4. We two were the only customers on a Friday at 7pm, which was a shame because the dancers deserved an audience of at least twenty.
Dancers chose their own music, which I always like. The first dancer I recognized from Portland and she is a solid nine, if not ten. She is a dancer-dancer, applying her formal training to undulate her body in waves, sharp spins, and hip flips, which all looked even better as her clothes came off. She has a cheery personality and was great to talk to.
