Along the path, I made a Detour

This review is based off several visits I’ve made to Detour over the past 6 or so months. It’s a relatively new club, it’s been open for maybe 2 years. When it first opened it started out rough, most of the girls there were fat. But as word of mouth traveled around the city, more girls started working here. On a usual Friday or Saturday night, they have around 20 girls working. I never thought I would say this based on how Club Detour started out, but now I would rather go to Club Detour than the club across the street (Spyce) even though Spyce has hotter girls than Detour.

It’s in downtown Portland, no parking lot. You have to park on the street. There are a few parking spots in front of the club, but other than that you have to utilize street parking along a 2 or 3 block radius. On the weekends, it is much harder to find street parking. If you don’t find street parking, you have to park at a paid parking lot. The area is not the best either, there are some homeless people around the area. The bouncer gives you a pat down at the door, if you get there early enough (I think before 11pm) then there’s no cover. After that it’s anywhere from a $10 to $20 cover depending on what event is going on there that night. It has 3 floors, there is a dance club on the 2nd floor, and the strip club is on the 3rd floor.

The club has 2 main stages and 2 side mini stages. The girls can actually climb off the stage and grind on you which is nice to see because some other Portland are no longer allowing the girls to do that. It’s a nude club, both on stage and in the lapdances. The bar is to the left when you walk up the stairs. The drinks here are expensive, 1 to 2 bucks more expensive per drink than the other popular downtown clubs (Rouge and Spyce), a rum n coke here might cost you 10 bucks. There is not a lot of seating at all, if you arrive when it’s busy you will definitely be standing. Music seemed to be mainly hip hop and R&B. It seems like they’re trying to make it like a party upscale club.
