Scoping out Downtown

I've never heard a lot of good things about the strip clubs in downtown Montreal but my hotel was just a few blocks from a few of them so I figured it was worth checking things out for myself. I arrived at Club Downtown around 11pm on a Friday night. It's on the second floor, so you climb a long flight of stairs on the way in. Cover was $9 and I gave the bouncer who led me to my seat another $5, having heard about this custom. Once seated at the bar I ordered a $8 bottle of water - club branded, which seems to be the norm in Montreal (that struck me as kind of funny).

The club was focused around a single stage in the back of the main room. There was plenty of seating around the room and it was relatively full. The bar was closer to the entrance and not close at all to the stage but I could see well enough.

I wasn't overly impressed by the quality of the lineup. I saw several larger women that I didn't really want to see. But there were some lookers as well. Dancers do two songs on stage but for some reason these are not consecutive. That is, dancer #1 would do one song, getting topless, then she'd be replaced by dancer #2 who would do the same, and then dancer #1 would return to the stage for a second song. Some of the dancers got nude on song #2 but not all.
