Lots of dancers but can be boom or bust

After reading the many favorable TUSCL reviews about the Dallas strip club scene, especially Baby Dolls, I contrived a business trip to check it out myself. I managed to squeeze in four visits to Baby Dolls on different days and times, and this review is long because I discuss each visit. My overall conclusion is that this is one of the top lap dance clubs in the country, especially in terms of value, number of dancers, and availability of mileage. But at busy times (e.g. Friday evening) the crowded conditions make it a bit overwhelming for both the customer and the dancers – and a visit might be a bust for non-regulars at those times.

As described in other reviews, it is a pretty big club. On the first floor are seven small stages plus a large bar and buffet area and a lap dance area with VIP booths open only in evenings; upstairs is another large bar, big chairs forming a lap dance area, and VIP rooms. $3 cover for my visits and no fees to the club to get the $20 lap dances. Drinks are $6.75 for beer/water/coke (one bartender charged me $7.75 for a coke). I didn't try VIP rooms.

A couple of things surprised me despite reading reviews. The interior of the club isn't what I consider upscale. Most of it has a basement/divey look and the red carpet leading upstairs is obviously worn. The upholstery on some chairs is cracked and torn. But given the club charges little in the way of fees, the lack of an upscale interior is understandable and probably helps keep fees low. There is also little in the way of stage dancing; most of the stages are too small. It would be better with a few larger stages--the dancers wouldn't spend so much time rotating, and could put more into their performances. (Apart from being entertaining/arousing, I like stage dances because they are good for judging if the dancer is lap dance material). There is usually some stage tipping, but not a lot apart from busy times like Friday nights.
