Being a Pimp at The Pimp

The Pimp is a club in hot and humid Bangkok in Thailand all the way in Asia far far away for the United States. For anyone that is visiting there's a good chance you are likely staying around the Asok Terminal or Soi 11. The club is about a half hour away or more with traffic which can be annoying, there's no subway or sky train but things usually don't start getting busy at the club until 10pm-ish.

I've gone only a handful of times but it's quite nice especially compared to other clubs in Bangkok. It does have a reputation for being rather expensive but it's clean, well kept and kind of designed for Westerners. Your host and some but not all of the girls will be able to speak decent English. In the past, it used to be member only club with high fees for non-members but ever since the pandemic things have changed. If you are going to solo they have a 3,000 baht minimum which is easy to hit with a girl, drinks and some food. Once you are in the club there's a big main room with a bar, tables, pool table, couches, etc. with a main stage. You are better off bringing some friends splitting a bottle and a table but it is still doable to solo or a friend or two.

Once you are in the club or if you stick around in the main room there's a surprisingly good decent cover band that plays all the classics mostly American rock at an acceptable volume which is good change compared to other venues. On some nights the club has various themes where all the talent wears matching outfits from naughty nurses to naughty flight attendants along with impressive stage performances however some of them are professional dancers. Food and drinks are pretty standard with a beer going around 300 baht which is three times as much as it would be anywhere else but that still comes out to eight US dollars. It might sound a little odd but the place is nice enough to the point where I'd consider bringing a date for a night out.
