You Don't Have to be a Regular to Have Fun at Club Desire, But it Can't Hurt
Not to speak ill of the departed, but not too long ago there was an adjudicator who would describe every Desire review as a “shill review or club ad”. I’ll admit up front I find it hard to say much negative about the club. (I did grumble once about the dancer lineup on Labor Day evening 2022, but that was to be expected, even at Desire. There’s also that stupid drop off in floor elevation between the bar area and stage area, which I’ve tripped on Dick Van Dyke-style multiple times).
No cover in daytime, $10 evenings. There’s a metal detector which always sounds off when I go through, but the doorman always waves me through without a wand or patdown. Double frosted class doors separate the large entry vestibule from the club proper.
The Club has a nice layout, with two working bars staffed by friendly, attractive and efficient bartenders. Vodka tonics are $14. (I’ve been told that they are strong pours which, on the one hand, makes it a nice bargain. On the other hand, if, like me, you try to limit your intake to three drinks to ward off DUIs, not knowing this could easily result in your wheeling out of the place with the equivalent of a six-drink load on—almost certainly over the legal limit for anybody under 250 pounds).
