Back In Time

I've never been out this way in deep Brooklyn before but I was at an event nearby and thought I'd check this place out because it was close. I had read the reviews so had an idea what to expect. I didn't think I'd go back in time. This is the sort of place I remember when I started my monger journey so many many years ago. Narrow place with a long bar and the stage and 3 poles behind. What is now old fashioned slightly flashing PAR lights for the stage but not dark so at least you can see.

First off though, it's in a really weird place in Brooklyn, mostly industrial, some residential. I'm a New Yorker so I don't drive anywhere in the city. I can't tell you about parking but I can say it's the L train to Grand St and then a few blocks walk, not too bad. License scan on the way in and a pat down that went on forever and got a little personal. No cover. Sat at the bar and an old tiny woman came for my drink order. Beers were $9, my Dewars was $10. Not too bad. I gave her $20, she gave me 10 singles. From the reviews, I knew I was going to need them and soon enough the tip walk started, twice during each girl's set. Girls were white or Latina, tatted but attractive in that old sort of topless bar way, which pretty much is what this place is. It's not what one would call a Gentlemen's Club and that's why for me it was good because it was different and played upon my nostalgia. I think I would have been fine just remembering my younger days and watching the girls dance, tipping them a buck or 2 when they came around. It really shouldn't be much more than that. There were some girls sitting with who I took to be regulars chatting away, only about 4 of them plus me at the bar.

I had this young white spinner come sit next me and we had some good chat. The bartender was quick with a coaster for the girl and asked, "buy the girl a drink?" Girl said sure so she got what she said was champagne (with OJ it seemed). Looked like it was the dancers drink as all the other girls had them too. $20, yup-gotcha. But I was enjoying the conversation so was just chalking it all up to the experience. We got to talking about other clubs and LDs and she said they do LDs there too even though it didn't look like anyone was getting any. There was a room in the back she said. First she had to go onstage though. She was a pole star so I was hopeful for a good LD. I was wrong.
