New Club but Expensive

I visited Peppermint Hippo in Reno, Nevada on the evening of Tuesday Sep 26, 2023 between about 8;30 to 10:30 pm. The club is located just off the boundary of the airport and about 3.5 miles from the downtown hotel/casino area. It’s in a mostly industrial area otherwise deserted at night. The standalone building is located within some parking, although not a lot of spaces. I self parked for free although it appears they have valet parking at times when the club is busy. It’s a rather long and narrow building with the entrance on one short end. At the entrance I presented my ID which was scanned. Otherwise no cover. No security stuff.

The building is obviously pretty new. Restrooms by the entrance like the rest of the building pretty fancy. The main room is along the length of the building with the main stage at the far end and a smaller stage at the near end. The full alcohol bar is on the right side of the room. Some seats at the tip rail around the stage and 3 or 4 seat tables filling the center of the room. The ceiling is 2 stories high and there is a balcony around 3 sides of the room which has what looked like partially curtained off private spaces. The main stage had a single pole that was only maybe 8 feet high and not fastened at the top and thus bent and swayed when a dancer climbed up on it. Quite a lot of rotating colored lights etc. Music reasonable volume, apparently initially just an automatic recording then a DJ came in about 9:30.

There were few customers. A couple of individuals and one group of about 6 men and 2 women in the center of the room. A waitress came around for drink orders. I asked for water and she brought a glass of ice water like in a restaurant, no charge. They do have food, burgers, tacos, stuff like that. Later in my visit I ordered a cheeseburger which was cheap, actually pretty good, but took more than half and hour to arrive. Their excuse for that is that the group had a big order.
