If you travel more than average and visit clubs around the country, you start to get a feel for what works and what doesn't - both from a business operations model, and a physical layout point of view.  Vivide (aka V-Live, aka "New Follies") has quite a few physical shortcomings compared to its legendary predecessor, but it's gained enough rep I had to come out of review retirement to see if the hype was warranted.

Parking was free on a weekday afternoon visit, but the lot is relatively small (still bigger than OG Follies).  Paid my cover and I got more of a brush on the shoulder than a genuine pat down, then headed inside. This is where things may be slightly confusing on your first visit: past the vestibule to the left, the entry level opens up into a bar and seating area to the right and an open hallway and small alcove to the left. Apparently the upstairs bar is only open at peak times (which I usually avoid), so the path to what you came for is down the hallway.  You wind your way past a small closed room (sometimes used for VIP) and down the stairs to the middle of "the action."

This is where the building's roots as a nightclub really make the layout suffer in its current function: the bar, situated in the middle of the opposite wall from the stair, is functional but not very large - only space available for 15-20 seats. Not ideal for singletons that want to pull up a stool and have a few rounds, and even less ideal that the bar seating is all facing the bartenders, not the dancers.
