This is becoming a habit.

So, I'm finding going to a Broadway Show on a weekday and ending my night here is becoming a regular thing. Place is still just too dark, everywhere, though. I also hadn't realized how low the ceilings seem. All in all, you always seem to have to move around people, dancers and customers alike to get anywhere, even when it isn't crowded. $20 cover at the small hostess desk and dodge the guy just standing in the middle of the bar area. Place actually has a fairly long main bar and there always seems to have room to sit. Sports on the TVs. No coat or hat on the warm night so no required coat check. I opened my tab with a scotch on the rocks and took it into the main room. I discovered that there are actually 2 ways into this room from the bar, the one behind the hostess desk (what I knew) next to a tiny bar stage but then on the other side too, next to the other tiny stage. Don't know how I missed that, maybe because it's so dark. There was some party attracting most of the girls in the other room and I was frustrated trying to find my way around it. There seems to be way to many chairs for that area. I ended up at the back where I hadn't been before. Right near the VIP Area entrance (ah, that's where it is). It felt a little tucked away but comfortable and a good view of the tiny (but still dark) stage in the center.

I was only sitting for a moment before the first girl came by. Eastern European as far as I could tell and right on script, "Hi, what's your name? Where are you from? Want a dance?" I told her I was still settling and not right now and she went off. I sat there on my own for a bit, wondering what sort of night this was gonna be, checking my watch because I really only had about an hour or so to spare. One of the security men who had been standing by VIP walked past me, in hindsight he may have even glanced at me because he walked by again fairly quickly and he was followed by another girl. I do feel like he specifically brought her over. I don't remember any "hosts" doing that for me before in any place. Plenty have asked if I wanted help finding someone but I always declined. And this guy didn't ask. She sat right down in my lap and started to chat.
