Modest sports-bar club with cute dancers, very loud music, and overpriced VIP

Hoops is in midtown Manhattan, near the Empire State Building and a few doors down from Rick's Cabaret. I visited twice, on a Tuesday around 10pm and Thursday around midnight. Cover was $20. A bottle of water (which several people made a big deal about being Fiji water) was $10.

The club was narrow with a bar and TVs on one side and a few high top tables. Then it opened into a slightly larger square with an elevated stage and some regular chairs and tables. One wall was a mirror which made the place seem larger, and provided additional views of the dancer on the stage. There were two other floors, but they're for VIP dances and some semi-private bar or something.

The club was really loud, even for a strip club. The lights flashed and blinked over the stage and around the room so they frequently stabbed me in the eye. The seating around the stage made it relatively easy to see, and the mirror was nice, but the lighting wasn't great. The stage performances were decent. Good dancing, one excellent pole performer, very little just standing around. The dancers got topless on stage.
