A dive, but a familiar one
Well, It's been a while since I made the trek out to Nikki's. Glad I came one day later than I had planned, because apparently they're now only open Thursday to Saturday, with Thursday being only until midnight. Sad after effects of Covid I guess. Visit was on a Thursday around 8pm. No cover.
As for the venue itself, it hasn't changed much. It is a roadhouse/dive kind of club, frequented by country boys and unsavory characters. If that isn't your scene, don't bother going, this isn't a fancy club and you will stick out like a sore thumb if you show up dressed to the nines. Mind your own business and you'll be left alone by the other patrons, at least in my experience.
So for a Thursday at 8pm, I have to say I was a little disappointed in the amount of dancers, there were maybe 4 or 5 to start with. More trickled in as the night grew longer, but the club was definitely busy enough to support more dancers at that time. Before I left I would say it was a good amount though. The dancers to start were not particularly to my taste, so I had to wait until I saw one I liked. This came with the standard "Want a dance?" shtick, but no dancer was too pushy. When I saw a dancer I liked, She came by right away and sat down. Actually had a decent conversation and fun dances.
