First Time at Solid Gold

First time in London and decided to check out this club while in town for a concert. I hadn’t been to a Canadian strip club in almost 20 years—since turning 19 and visiting the River Port in Sarnia—so I was curious to see how things compared.

The club opens at 6 p.m., and we arrived around 6:30. There was no cover, and we were literally the first customers inside. Only three or four dancers were working at the time, and everyone was still getting ready and chatting. We grabbed a couple of drinks ($20 for two mixed drinks) and settled in.

The layout is solid. When you walk in and veer slightly left, you enter a large main room with a bar on the left and two stages on the right. The front stage is small and ground-level, while the second stage farther back is larger, elevated, and has two poles.
