Oh that Southern hospitality!
Ken's is located on a wedge-shaped area which makes it a little hard to find.
If you Mapquest it you'll get there quicker...I drove around in circles, but was only a block away!
Anyhow, after you park, you'll pass the gigantic doorman who collects the admission.
Inside, the main bar is on the right, and stage is straight ahead. When I walked in, they were having a parade of beauties who were advertising the 2 for 1 dances. Should have taken them up on their offer, rather than waiting. I didn't find any of the "hustling" that so many guys complain about. Sure, girls came up and asked if wanted a dance, and I politely said thanks, but I'm not ready yet. When I was ready, a tall blonde named Brandy and I went around the bar and upstairs to one of the two VIP rooms. They are like living rooms: fireplaces and couches--although the fireplace had no fire, it was homey. The dance was pretty good. I stayed for three. (See why I should have taken the 2 for 1?) In the past there was some Tennessee law about a 6-inch gap to always be between you and a dancer. That totally sucked, but it isn't the case any more, There's fairly good contact. Not Vegas-style, but hey, you're in the South. Personally, I think the friendly girls with their twangy drawls are very appealing. Not aggressive. When in Nashville, try Ken's--and if you've already been there, y'all come back now. hear?
