Worth a shot, I guess

A few months ago I visited some Toledo clubs in the afternoon and was pretty disappointed. Buck's Trophy Club was particularly dead then, but I was told that if I made my next visit after 10:00 PM, things would be much different. So I arrived at about 11:45 PM this time, hoping for the best.

The lot was about half full, which I took to be a good sign. There was a bouncer at the door, and a metal detector. They checked my ID (but did not scan it), and I paid the cute door girl $15 and a tip, and started in. There was another scantily-clad young woman sitting in a chair by the door, who promised in a sultry, flirty voice that I was about to have a great time. Another good sign.

Well, the place was far busier than the last couple times I'd been there, that's for sure. There appeared to be about 15 - 20 patrons, and most of the tables were occupied. After using the restroom (which was very clean and well-maintained, with no bathroom troll) I took a seat at the far end of the bar, and waited for the bartender (who happened to be easily the hottest woman in the bar) to come over. She was pretty busy chatting, laughing, and taking care of other customers, and it was probably ten minutes before she got me a $5 beer.
