Upscale small club, mixed bag Weeknight

First time going to a club in DC. Went two weeks ago on a Wednesday night. Arrived after midnight. Interestingly enough I told the cab I wanted to go to Camelot and I wasn’t even really paying attention to where he dropped me off and was staring at my phone and walked right into mpire which is right next door.

Hadn’t done my research before coming so was a little taken aback by the door guy who scans your ID and also says very explicitly to NOT touch any girls. Ok - whatever - I’m already here so I guess I’ll just roll with it but didn’t get a good feel from the outset. Guy radios up to the top that I’m walking up.. feels again weird.

I get up to the venue, it’s pretty small, a bar with one pole and one girl dancing on each side of the bar, and a series of small tables against the wall facing the bar. The whole area has a bit of an upscale clubby feel.
