A nice low-key hang with some potential

I have been going to Atlanta for business a couple times a year for decades and when there I always checked ATL clubs in the so-called "strip club capital of the USA"...so I can remember way back going to places like Tattletales, Pink Pony etc, then then Magic City and Foxy Lounge became my go-to's (though eventually Foxy Lounge fell below my minimal dive bar standard of dancer quality), evolving to Strokers and then after discovering Follies that was it. I hadn't been back to Atlanta since the demise of Follies so on this trip I intended to check out Club Wax and Club Blaze.

I arrived at Club Wax around 2pm. it is off the sketchy Fulton Industrial Blvd. but in a decent-looking industrial park so no security issues. I pulled into the modest front parking lot right in front of the door; a security guy patted me down on my way in. I paid the $5 cover and emerged into the dim interior, the unmistakable odor of weed hitting immediately. The club is a large rectangular space with the vibe of a low rent sports bar. There are long bars on the front and back walls; on the right half the room are four raised platform stages, one long, the others small and round, with poles; in the left half of the room at the far end are two low platform stages without poles. Interspersed are a number of pool tables at which people were playing pool and small round high tables and chairs with a couch or two here and there.

When I came in there were no dancers on any stages though I could see a number of dancers around the room, some just sitting, a couple playing pool, some talking to customers, one dancing on a customer. A quick survey revealed the talent to be in the 3 -5 range, depending on your taste, all AA, a fair number "thick" or more, but a couple of skinny ones. Hip hop was banging but the atmosphere was totally chill. Though billed as a "bikini bar" most of the dancers wore quasi leotard type outfits with cut-outs or some sort of lingerie.

After a while a couple dancers got onstage, twerking a bit (one of them seeming to fire up a joint as she did) but no one--other than me--was even looking their way. Meanwhile, more dancers were emerging from the dressing room and the quality moved up into the 4 - 6 range. A couple of them came by; the hustle was very low key and friendly. One dancer, a friendly so-so looking thick but not fat one with blonde hair, said it was usually busier at this time, which surprised me because there were more dancers and customers than I expected in the mid-afternoon. She mentioned that dances were $5, clothed but they got naked in the VIP; (I neglected to ask the price on that as I wasn't interested with the dancers who came by).

Finally one dancer with long blonde braids caught my eye as she emerged from the dressing room; I like spinner types but slender with shape. She was slender but not skinny with nice-sized boobs and from a distance it looked like she might be pretty. She got on a small stage near me and assumed various provocative positions for three or four records. I gave her an interested stare and since I was the only one even looking at her she noticed. After her dancing, she made her way over in a way that gave the impression she really wasn't coming to see me. But she was. Up close it turns out I was right: underneath the over-the-top eyelashes, make-up and braids she WAS nice-looking. We had nice conversation with her not once bringing up the idea of a dance. So I said something about hey it would be nice to get a dance but somehow it didn't register (maybe because she was vaping while we talked lol). Then she started to move away and I said when you're ready for some dances, come back. She snapped out of it and said "oh, you wanted dances? I wasn't sure and I don't like to be pushy." (how some of these girls make money is beyond me!)
