30 Years Later Still Not Worth It

I had been in this place once or twice 30 years ago and nothing about it inspired me to stop in again even though I passed it many times on my trips back and forth to NYC. But tonight, on the way back from a meeting, there it was, and feeling in the mood for a beer and possibly luck into some good action, I took a chance. If you're coming North on Rt. 15 you can't just pull in you have to go up to the next left turn/u-turn option; I cut through some businesses parking lot two doors up, which I don't think you're supposed to do.

There were plenty of spots available in the park lot on the side and back; I parked on the well-lit side. The place looks like nothing special from the outside and it is indeed nothing special on the inside. One large rectangular room with the bar, which was likewise rectangular with a long stage with two poles in the middle. Adjacent is a decent size room with two pool tables; restrooms were back and to the left of that room and when I hit the restroom I could see a brightly lit empty lapdance area with seats with partitions. The brightly lit aspect was unappealing but it was back in a corner and unless a manager or bouncer was going to proactively stand and watch a lap-dance from the door the area would be somewhat private. Three of four guys were playing pool. There was no cover charge when I walked in and I quickly noted only two dancers, both talking to a couple of the half dozen rather scruffy customers at the end of the bar; no one was onstage. The bar maid was also at the far end and seem to be in intense discussion with a guy, maybe a manager. It took her a full 10 minutes to register me and come down to get me a beer; she looked up set so maybe the manager was giving her shit. One of the dancers, a curvy, fairly tall, "thick" blonde with a pleasant but unremarkable face got up on stage; she was, being generous, a six...although if you were into her type she might edge up into the seven category. Something about her suggested Latina--maybe Colombian and indeed some pop-salsa came on; her dancing though was lackluster and had little to do with the music. After a couple records she came around the inside of the bar for tips. While I was watching her a heavily perfumed curly-haired brunette came up to me with a "hi, what's your name" routine which I brushed off without taking a good look at her because I didn't want the perfume all over me. After a couple of records with no one dancing, the brunette got back on stage as some rock/pop came on. She had a decent though not amazing body, not thick like the first one, and was kind of nice-looking, nothing special, another solid six. She however, danced with great enthusiasm, singing along to the music, and having a good time. So that was nice. There was no dee jay so after each record she got of the stage and walked to the dj booth and dialed up a song she liked. She danced well so that was mildly entertaining. While I was watching her the blonde came up to me with a bottle of lotion and asked if I wanted a massage for $20. I didn't and she said "no problem" and walked away. After the brunette finished three songs, and collected more tips she came over and asked if I wanted a lapdance; the fare would be $30 and she added "if you don't like the dance I'll give it back to you!" I'd never had a dancer say that...whether it was really true is an open question; I imagine most guys would not want to tell her the dance was no good so it was a good line. Shewent into the pool room and I noticed that a couple more dancers had appeared, one maybe Asian, or possibly Mexican, shorter and maybe a little cute. The other was unremarkable. So the talent was consistently average or maybe a little above, depending or your taste. I decided to book. In fairness, 9pm on a Monday probably was not prime-time for this club--or any club. I see other reviews of this place that suggest at other times there were more dancers and some of higher quality. If so, it would be worth a stop and worth checking the quality of the lap dance. But for me it might be another 30 years before I do.
