Steep financial learning curve (part 1 of 3)

I haven’t been to Detroit area strip clubs since 2005. I was in town for business but it didn’t take very long, so a return to my old stomping grounds was overdue. I visited The Landing Strip, Flight Club, and Legends over three days, and will post reviews under each club.

I found that a lot has changed since I was last at the Landing Strip. From what I remember, then most of the lap dances occurred out in the open on the main floor and upstairs and the top price was $20 a dance. You could have fun with a bunch of dancers for a relatively reasonable cost. Quite a few 9-10 rated dancers could usually be found, and almost all of the dancers were seven or above. (I know a lot of you probably don’t give a shit how it used to be, but this is my review.) Now, all the dances take place downstairs in almost pitch dark rooms divided by curtains. Extras seem to be the norm; apart from those, the lap dances are full contact but sometimes perfunctory and the songs are only about 2 minutes long. Dancers push the extras because that is where the money is, and the prices are so high (at least the ones I agreed to) that you quickly clean out your wallet with just a few dancers. I’m still trying to decide whether I like the old landing strip style or the new. There seemed to be more seduction/feeling with the old style and you could experience more dancers at a lower cost. But I suppose the fear of another crackdown--and hope for more money--led to the prevalence of private rooms.

My first visit this year was on a Wednesday night, and I returned Friday night. I arrived by rideshare both times, but didn’t have any hassles with the valet boys and didn’t need to show them my app. (Maybe management saw the recent complaint on this site about valet hassles?) The club is an upscale club, but looked a bit run down compared to how I remembered it. There were not a lot of customers, but quite a few dancers though most were 7 or below. Since the pandemic, I don’t run into many 9-10s at lap dance clubs locally on the East Coast, so I was really looking for higher quality. But my heart leapt when I spied a tall, leggy dark-skinned black dancer who I would rank as a ten and had a perfect body with a pretty face--just my type. I tipped her at the stage and she visited me at the bar and I quickly agreed to go downstairs for some dances. We had a good time for $600 – she asked for $1000 but she agreed to my counter offer. (More on the financials below). I later had more dances for $420 from a pretty light-skinned black dancer who approached me at the bar and I would rate as an 8. I had to leave around midnight, so that was it for Wednesday.
