Slow Tuesday in August

I was passing through Albuquerque on a hot day in August and stopped in at TD's for a beer or two. The parking lot was half full, typical for a weekday afternoon around 3:30. The friendly bouncer at the door wanded me and check my ID, and I headed in to a seat against the wall near the main stage. When you enter TD's, the bar is on your right and the main stage is straight ahead. There's a secondary stage to the left that doesn't get much use during the day. The waitress arrived fairly quickly--the waitresses in this place always seem to be pretty hot; I wish they were dancers--and took my order. The floor service in here is always pretty good.

Besides myself, there were probably 7-10 customers even distributed between the bar and the floor. The dancer count was roughly the same. TD's used to have great $10 table dances pre-pandemic, which allowed you to check out the dances fairly economically before you made your decision whether to head to the VIP. That is no longer the case. Dances now only happed in the VIP rooms at $25 a pop. There are two rooms, one on each end of the club, which the usual setup--2 rows of couch-type seating facing each other with dividers between each for a little privacy.

I was there for about an hour and a half. I was hoping to run into a dancer I had met there back in February, who was from El Paso and riding the circuit. She was a 30-year old hottie with a big personality and sexual appetite. But she wasn't there, and I digress. On this afternoon, the dancers made their rounds to me. The majority were Hispanic, from Cuba, Venezuela, and Colombia, with just a couple of Anglos working as well. I learned from one of the Anglo dancers that the Hispanic ladies, who were all knew to me, had formerly worked at the now-closed club in Santa Fe. They were all hot, 8s minimum. I got a couple of dances from 2-3 of them. The dances, with one exception, were blah, and it was clear that the ladies were only interested in upsetting the VIP room (30 mins., $275), with promises of a HJ. I engaged in my usual friendly banter to see if the VIP time might be used more effectively, but it was clear that wasn't happening.
