Participation Trophy Club
After a disappointing trip to Buck's Platinum, I wandered over to The Trophy Club, which is the new name for Buck's Rack City. I miss the days when it was Scarlett's, but whatever.
I pulled in at about 6:25 PM, and was puzzled at how few cars there were in the lot. The club opens at 5:00, so where was everybody? The door guy also scanned my ID, which I wasn't crazy about, and had me walk through a metal detector. Then there was a pat-down for weapons. Fortunately, I had left my bazooka at home, so they let me in. I'm not sure what the cover charge policy is now, but they didn't charge me anything, probably because there was no one else there.
The club's layout is very different from the Scarlett's days. There's now a long, thin, 2-pole stage in the center of the club, with the DJ booth directly to the right as you walk in. There's also a tiny stage on the wall opposite the entrance. The club is sparsely decorated, although they've already put up a Christmas tree. The neighborhood isn't the worst, and with all the security measures, I'd say the place is fairly safe.
