Early Saturday Night
A buddy of mine was in town and has been wanting to try the ATL SC scene for a while. We went to Onyx as I've never been so I wanted to finally check it out to see what the hype was about and it was close by to where he was staying.
Arrived at around 10pm, parking and cover was $40 EACH, they said some celebrity was going to be there turns out it was just some rapper's baby mama, I didn't know that counted as "celebrity" these days. So that's $80 gone before I walk in (I'm a dayshift guy for a reason but I'm trying to be a good host). Once you walk in the main room is a rectangle with the long stage taking up most of the middle. Table sections are right by the stage with even more sections along the walls with bars on either side of the long stage. Place actually looks nice and clean, but that's where the positives ended for me. BTW we just ordered beers which were $8.
So we get there at 10 which is pretty early so it was dead, girls and patrons didn't really start rolling in until 11 but at least we were able to get bar seating. Now to the girls, as many places as I've been in Atlanta, I don't remember seeing such a concentrated population of BBLs in a single place. So many girls clearly had work done which for me is a bit of a turnoff especially when it's really obvious otherwise they were really attractive. Most were definitely slim-thick to just think. I don't know if it's a night-shift thing but for the most part me and my friend were invisible to the girls as most of the action was centered in the sections, which is to be expected but there were so many just on their phones taking pics of each other while I was sitting there with money to spend. Some looked my way I looked back but none really approached. What was disappointing for me was the stage dances, only one or two actually took of clothes the rest just danced in their lingerie while the DJ was screaming about tipping. Around 12:30, they took the seats away from the bar so we were left standing after that. I was only approached once for a dance, Angelica who gave some uninspiring dances with light contact and the fact I was standing since they took the chairs took me out of it even more. Dances are $10/song. After 3 songs she tried to get me to pay for the drink she ordered but I shut that down real quick.
