Slow evening turns fast

I used to frequent this club regularly, but I had not been in a few years so I decided to see if it was still as good as I remember. The simple answer to that is yes and no, but I will get to that in a bit.

The club itself has not changed much. You pay your entry fee on the right and go through the curtain into a good sized but dark room. There are some built-in couches along the back to the right and in front of that are a bunch of tables with chairs on either side followed by the stage. The bar is to the left.

I came on a Tuesday around 5, which turns out to not be a good time. It’s right as the day shift is finishing and the night shift is slowly trickling in. When I arrived there were a two girls sitting at tables by themselves, both on their phones (which I hate). One girl was sitting with a guy in the back and two other guys were sitting with each other at a table. I took a seat in the first row of chairs next to a table and a cocktail waitress immediately came over and I got a water. Upon sitting down I realized the seats were a little more rough than I remembered. I’m the past I always came on Thursday for the special and I was hoping to get the same kind of action on a less crowded day.
