LONG READ// A Gem of a Club
Preface: I’ve posted one review of a recent trip to TJ. I’ve spent a lot of time reading reviews since then. Thinking about my own previous visits - clearly without the expertise you have. I say this, as I’m rather certain I’ll be accused of submitting an advertisement for the club. That being said, here is my review of Downtown Cabaret.
I went in this afternoon. I parked in a ramp nearby, and ended up paying way too much for parking ($14 for less than an hour). I had a very limited amount of time while in town for business. However, parking seemed so chaotic, while managing Google directions, that I parked in the 5th Ave Ramp (I believe that’s the correct ramp) as I could see I was within a block of the club.
The club entrance has a white canopy in a nondescript street, in an architecturally stunning building. The e trance is dark. To the left is a welcome area that was staffed by a bodyguard. I waited in line behind a dancer, assuming I would need to provide ID or get a pat down, however, I was waved by with no cover (I arrived around 2:45).
