I hate when reputations and stereotype prove themselves. I am far from alone in the near-perpetual complaint about the all too predictable stereotypic dancer at Bogart's - too thick ! - and rarely the exception shows itself. On reflection, when that happens, I suppose it's just the exception to the rule. Unfortunately - read on...
Now that I am down in Florida much of the year, my trips back to old stomping grounds in Michigan are less frequent and shorter. This may be a pandemic thing - and it was never my intention on semi-retiring to be away this much - but I came up for air in June and this will be a short trip.
(To be honest, testing the waters of a fledgling relationship - down south - has something to do with it. Don't know if or how that will turn out...)
So I mozied in to the club where I've always felt the most depraved and most at home.... Bogart's - which has been well-described in the well over 1,000 reviews here. Smoke-filled, furniture in disrepair - but down-home neighborhood feel, no presence about it, that's for sure.
On a safe well-traveled main road, well-lit parking lot (not an issue in late June at 6pm, sunshine till 930pm around here).
