Booby Trap - much different than the owner's Detroit clubs

The owner of Booby Trap is a legend in the industry and I have spent a small fortune at his Detroit clubs when my career had me covering the Motor City. I have met the owner many times, and since I worked in an industry that he had a unique interest in, we always had nice conversations. I always found him to be a gracious man that was concerned with the aesthetics of his clubs, the quality of the food that is served and his customers having fun at his clubs. Rarely do we as customers engage with the club owner, but I used to see him regularly at his clubs and he appeared to be very hands-on. I share this background because Booby Trap looks very similar to Penthouse in Detroit, but it is nothing like the sister clubs in Michigan.

After and quick in and out visit to Diamond Dolls, I passed by Booby Trap on my way to Cheetah and saw the parking lot fairly packed for a Friday afternoon. I decided to stop in and check out the club. I had been here once before at night and did not stay. There is plenty of self-parking for $2 and there was no cover charge to enter. The club is an absolutely beautiful just like the owner's other clubs but that is where the similarity ends. As you enter the club, there is a bar to your right, a large long dance stage, another bar at the back, booths and table to both sides of the stage. Upstairs is another bar, some bench seating and some private rooms with curtains.

I ordered a beer at the first bar and was not offered a lunch menu. I think I paid $8 for beer. Within seconds of getting my beer, a cute spinner approached me. She was tiny and had amazing blow job lips. I took a quick glance around the club and did not see anything better. I accepted her invitation for a dance and we made our way upstairs for some dances. Immediately after starting her dance and beginning to straddle me, the upstairs manager came over and interrupted her. He told her she could not dance like that and grind on me. She asked me if I wanted to go into a room for $200 or $300 all inclusive. Annoyed that we were interrupted by a manager for no reason, I decided to play it out and checkout the VIP experience at Booby Trap. I paid $300 to the manager and we went back to a nice little room and closed the curtain. I had a great 15 minutes with this sexy little spinner.

Despite having a great time with the little spinner, I did not like Booby Trap and doubt I will return. First, I think the DJ should be fired. The music was blasting (during lunch) and I could feel the bass shaking inside my lungs! Also, the ladies working here did not look they wanted to be there. Most were sitting along the side wall and at the back bar. The vibe was just off and was not fun like Cheetah or even DD. Also, the managers on duty were not friendly and engaging like at the owner’s other clubs. If anything, they seemed aggressive and amped-up. The way the girls acted and the way the managers acted suggested that the girls did not like the managers. It also appeared that the girls might not be working for their own benefit. The talent was not so good and there was just a bad vibe that I could sense here. It was not a fun atmosphere, so I decided to go over to Cheetah where the atmosphere was completely different.

I think Booby Trap could be a really amazing club because it is so nice inside. I think the owner needs to clean house and bring in new management and get rid of the girls that are only there because they are being forced to be there and don’t have a positive attitude.
